Thank you.  I always enjoy your postings.  Hope you noticed the Pulp Alley shoeshine stand in one of the early gallery pictures.  Great piece.  I think I will post a couple more pictures of elements of this project in process such as the construction of the dock area.  Thanks again for taking the time to write.  Richard

Brilliant set up Richard. I love how you have mixed buildings from Cars, Christmas villages, Pegasus, and more to get a real city feel. Well done Sir!

Thanks Lordblackwing; really appreciate the generous words.  Combining the different types of buildings (porcelain, resin, plastic, purpose-built 25s, repurposed toys, O gauge...) was the real challenge for me with this project.  I'm glad to hear you think it worked.  I am very happy with the way they came together too.  Thanks again for taking the time to write.  Richard

Blown away.  The details across the whole set is amazing.  From the interior of the gin joint to the mural skyscrapers on the horizon this must have been an epic undertaking.   Love

horridperson, thank for taking the time to write and for the very generous comments.  The mural skyscrapers were a lucky swap meet find, and fortunately I have a friend who could make the black and white copies for me on a large copy machine.  I really like the way they came out... they enhance the total look without drawing the eye away from the table.  I did my first cityscape background mural when I did my Victorian city.  That time I didn't have the swap meet find to help me so I simply cut a cityscape out of black construction paper, and I think it worked really well.  That experience is what helped me see the potential of the cityscape I used here when I came upon it at the swap meet.  And I do love adding the details... even though I made this thing, I still find things in the pictures that I had forgotten were there.  Thanks again.  Richard

Sir, does your madness know no bounds?!  I'd love to see a street view video shot from eye height of a mini!  I shall be referring to this often!  Thanks for posting all your amazing, hard work!

gary42, it is madness, but a wonderful madness that keeps me involved in one of these crazy projects sometimes for years.  The photography is my daughter's doing... she has the eye.  Thanks for taking the time to write, and I still have a lot of projects planned so stay tuned.  Richard

I’ve attached two pictures of my dock area.  One of the pictures shows the construction process/stages using Duplos, Evergreen and JTT plastic.  The other picture shows the finished product.  I intended to post this earlier, but got involved in other things, and it slipped my mind… better late than never.

James, thanks for taking the time to write and for the generous comment.  Cranky is a great toy.  In addition to this one, I have two of the larger ones that I will be using in the Space project I am currently working one.  Fortunately for my wallet I have been able to find the Cranky the Crane toys at the swap meet for between $1 and $5 each.
