I kind of agree - technically very good (Vastra is great, Strax is a nice likeness - shame I don't need either of them), but sort of soulless.

And the Capaldi manages to fit in everything I really don't like about the rebooted 12th Dr in one figure. The sonic specs, the hoodie, the guitar. He's a walking midlife crisis and a weird choice for a mini pose.

But those are my prejudices, so don't mind me. I'm looking forward to seeing how they cover the classic Doctors.

Totally agree with you on that Jet. Though as a completist collector rather than a gamer, whilst it is an odd figure as you say, I'm all for oddness. And I do like the Clara with the tight sweater  Wink. The others are OK but a bit meh,( got similar to them from elsewhere and not characters I'm interested in).

It is curious to note that there are currently no figures that represent characters that are exclusive to the 12th Dr other than the Doctor himself. Guess we'll have to wait for a Missy for that.

I just received the 10th and 12th Doctor sets.  I don't have a working camera, so I can't provide comparison photos, but the pictures on the Warlord site seem quite representative.  Casting is much better than I am used to from Warlord: no visible mould lines, and the only flash is a bit of air channel run off connecting the end of the 12th Doctor's guitar with the base.

These are tall slim figures.  The two Doctors are 32mm floor to eye, 34mm to top of the head.  Even tiny Clara is 29.5/31mm high (about the same as Heresy's Dr Hugh).

I had a closer look at them at the Warlord site and find them well matching the prototypical characters. However the rather static poses are a bit lame for what many wargamers are used to: Dramatic and dynamic poses. I have the impression that they will better fit a cabinet for displaying the show characters than breathing life into a thrilling game. The actors would have possibly posed for a poster collage that way, but the figures are obviously not doing much - I mean RUNNING was much of what the 10th Doctor did. Why shall his gaming table be that relaxed? Donīt get me wrong - I think I will buy them anyway, because they DO look like what they are supposed to display. Donna Noble is my favourite by far, because that reserved pose suits her well.

Many of them are clearly derived from well-known publicity stills.

"Sorry. Under the terms of our license, the Doctor Who range is only available on our UK store (you'll need to clear your cookies to visit).  No products found in this collection"

...Well.  Bugger that with a selection of fresh produce.

Nothing stopping someone buying them in the UK and posting them abroad though.

As I mentioned on Belgian's Salute releases summary thread, Warlord Games' "Doctor Who - Exterminate!" boxed game won't be shipping more generally until late May, but their Facebook page says, "We are getting the boxes of EXTERMINATE ready for those of you going to Salute!"

The Tetraps seems an odd choice so early on in the range. Not exactly from a "classic" classic story.

I thought this was a strange choice as well, I would have thought other races might have been higher up the pecking order.
