Was just wondering how squad level version of Vi De you mentioned might be coming along, always interested in a nice skirmish ruleset.

Well it is "Ultra-Skirmish".  Cool
Working title: Victory Decision: Raid!

Biggest difference: Each unit in “Victory Decision: Raid!” represents one individual infantry model.
It is basically infantry squad vs infantry squad. Normal game would be 6-10 men per side. Maybe a light vehicle.

Most of the action of the platoon level ViDe is there, but some abilities and actions work a bit different.

Absolutely new is the Infantry Unit Combat Status.
During a game of „Victory Decision: Raid!“ the infantry units under your command will change their Combat Status when they take casualties. The Combat Status can also be changed when the unit regroups.
The effects of each Combat Status will make more sense when you have read the rest of the rules, but in summary an infantry unit can change its Combat Status every time it is attacked and successful hit by an enemy unit and failed it’s Save roll.
The 4 Combat Stati are Fit to Fight, Stunned, Wounded and Removed. Whenever one of your infantry units fails a Save roll you have to roll a D6 for each failed Save on the following table to determine the effect of the enemy attack.
1-2   Stunned   -1 Action on next activation, only Move and Regroup Actions possible!
3-4   Wounded   -2 Actions on next activation, only Move and Regroup Actions possible!
5-6   Removed   Deduct one HP; if the last HP is lost the unit is removed from play.

It is just one additional level of detail but it changes the game a lot.
For example, a medic can help fellow trooper to patch him up again, Abilities like Dedicated change the above table (only removed on a 6) etc.

So far all test games has shown the same tactical depth but with much less minis.

A game that a mini selling company would not design...  Wink  Wink
In fact one of the motivating factors to do the game was the growing threshold to start gaming.
I just don't like it anymore to paint 40+ minis just to start the 1st game.  Roll Eyes
Maybe that is also the reason why games like Frostgrave are so successful.

The book let's you design your force very openly, but force lists are also included.
So far I have written the following:

BRITISH RIFLE FORCE
BRITISH MOTOR RIFLE FORCE
BRITISH CARRIER FORCE
BRITISH ENGINEER FORCE
BRITISH PARATROOPER FORCE
BRITISH COMMANDO FORCE
BRITISH TRANSPORTS

EARLY-MID WAR GERMAN RIFLE FORCE
EARLY-MID WAR GERMAN MOTORIZED / PANZERGRENADIER FORCE
EARLY-MID WAR GERMAN PIONEER FORCE
GERMAN FALLSCHIRMJÄGER FORCE
GERMAN GEBIRGSJÄGER FORCE
GERMAN WAFFEN SS FORCE
LATE WAR GERMAN GRENADIER FORCE
LATE WAR GERMAN PANZERGRENADIER FORCE
GERMAN NACHTJÄGER FORCE
LATE WAR GERMAN VOLKSSTURM FORCE
GERMAN TRANSPORTS

EARLY-MID WAR SOVIET RIFLE FORCE
LATE WAR SOVIET RIFLE FORCE
SOVIET ASSAULT ENGINEER FORCE
SOVIET GUARDS MOTOR RIFLE FORCE
SOVIET NKVD FORCE
OSTFRONT (EASTERN FRONT) PARTISAN FORCE
SOVIET TRANSPORTS

US ARMY RIFLE FORCE

And it is hard to find the time to paint such a mass of figures. Sometimes real life strikes back, I think... Wink

That sounds what I'm looking for, I like the rifle squad size of game, not least because you can usually get a couple of games in the time it takes for a single platoon level one.
(Also, is there any chance of you adding WWWII options - adapted from your own existing ruleset?)

Not at the start Ballardian, I am however thinking about a WWW and SF version if the initial books sells well enough.
