Well...

Dunno, how this will go over with everybody...

But, anyway, I was thinking... how about an informal, fun Christmas painting competition?

***********************

Rules (subject to modification):

1) Subject: Minimum of any single miniature.   Hypno  The miniature need not be Christmas themed.
2) Photo: Single image (allowing multiple photo angles)
3) Basic painting requirement: A significant proportion of the subject should be painted in either or red, white and/or green, in whatever proportion the artist chooses... or whatever the artist deems appropriate  Roll Eyes
4) Number of entries:  Unlimited
5) Extra Points:
**** +5 votes if the miniature is wearing a Santa hat.
6) Duration of vote: 8 days.

Entry Submission: PM me (subject Christmas Competition Entry) with either an image or url link and a description of the miniature (manufacturer and name) of your entry no later then 2359, 24 Dec. 2008.

***********************

Red and white probably are the two colors I have the greatest problem with, so, a chance to practise here.

Anyway, if there is enough interest (think 10 as a minimum), I'll be happy to compile the photos onto a single "poll" thread on Christmas and we can have a bit of good cheer with voting and bantering.

So... anybody up for the challenge?

Comments... recommendations?

im up for it. but i think 90% is a bit much. it should be.
> all miniatures entered should have a GOOD proportion of red white and or green on them.
minis with Santa hats get 1 extra point to boost there score .  Cheesy

Agreed...

I dropped it to 80%... but as it is informal, I think we can be pretty liberal here... it's more the intent than anything else.  And the intent is fun, nobody will be disqualified for not having enough red and white coverage.

Okay... editing here... I changed the requirement to a "significant" proportion, but it is really whatever folks want... the competition is meant to be fun... so really...

Will update rules as folks chime in.

I must say I am completely opposite in my view of Christmas mini's - I hate and loathe them with a vengeance

On that basis - I'm in Hypno

8. WOOP is there a chance we could do some sort of prize. an incentive to say the least. ?
I'm sure we could do something. possibly a free mini or a coupon or code. (reckon we could heckle one of our sponsors into a discount code  Wink)

think it would be nice if we could.
