Those are wonderful.  They really get my hands itching for a bit of Inq28.  I think, once Zero Dark is finished, I may have to write a grimdark expansion for it...

What a lovely warband. Great use of the Empire standard top. I've had that bit for years with no idea how to use it. Maybe I can jam it into my nurgle warband somehow...

Thanks a lot you all !
I'm quite glad they get such a warm welcome as this is a bit out of my usual zone of work so I feared it might be "off".
It was an enjoyable project from the beginning till the end so who knows if I'm not going to try that again ? ^^

OK folks, I'll be honest with your here, I'm a bit into many genres of music but I do have a deep fondness for metal (speed, Thrash, heavy, grind, death, etc...)
Now when I think of Noise marines, I do think about the noise they make more than about the make up and leopard spandex they wear... This has lead to a way more sober interpretation of the model :

More about him in the blogpost as usual, thanks for looking !

A very nicely-restrained take on the topic, as you say. The red and black contrast works very well, especially with the weathering, but I do feel that the sonic blaster lacks a tiny Roman numeral "XI" close to that lever...  Wink

I agree with Westfalia Chris - this whole project goes all the way up to eleven!

I really like your interpretation! Very cool.

Normally I absolutely HATE that miniature- ever since it was released. This from a hardcore metalhead who also played Emperor's Children back in the Rogue Trader days.

Thanks !
I think teh model itself leads to caricature and grotesque but I wanted to try something more "realistic" so to speak. I have anothe rone planned which will explore another path... ^^

We all have been painting our minis in awful oversaturated colours and you suddenly bring the most obvious solution... a true metal disciple must wear in black! Cheesy
Genuinely excellent, JB

Love the paint job on the noise marine, interesting to see a scheme that isn't garish but sinister

It's a lovely paint job and the miniature really suits the colours you have chosen (namely black)...

... but noise marines are supposed to be garish because their senses have been numbed to a point where they can only see really bright and contrasting colours...

... however... I much prefer this black colour scheme Smiley

Nice work and it needs an 11 Smiley

I honestly to get the point about the fluff and all really, but I wanted to paint this guy as a break and imagine his music is so loud it just saturates his senses without having to use garish colours. GW have left that aspect aside as well on top pf that. He's definitely getting a 11 though. ^^

Apart from that, I've taken the time to take pics of a lasercut mdf silo I've won in a painting challenge :

It's quite tricky to photograph with the small area I have but here's what I managed to do. You can find a brief "how to" in the blogpost.
