Based on an Heroclix Hercules from Marvel, i convert this figurine to give my ludus (part of my roman city) a big champion like Theokoles (from Spartacus serie) :

Comparison scale with Lucius (a Crusader 28mm) :

And the fisnished version :

Dear Prof,

you are really aware to detect the shield manufacturer.....  Laugh

The shield was so heavy, thick and big that i couldn't use it with a normal 28mm gladiator.

I like to search in the heroclix range some uncommon figurines for my 28mm project.

The sword is a Magister Militum (a great sword of the medieval range weapon).

The helmet is from a BTD but i have to enlarge it to the scale of my new friend !   Hypno  otherwise he could be looks like Pinhead the Barbarian !

The crest is from Vitrix athenian hoplites box . A box highly recommended for conversion work for the amount of weapons, material etc...to fill the job !

as promised , here we are !

i received yesterday my order from Blue Rat Games that sold Heroclix, etc ..at low prices and fast delivery service. Highly recommended !  Wink

For this project i pick up the new Hercules to compare his scale with my 28mm and a guy call Ironclad (from spiderman range) that can be a new Giganticus , a statue or a big ganger in the street of rome, see both topic (here and here) in this Forum !

here is the comparison scale for the 28mm conversion mad guys like me and Rumacara

From Left to right :

Lucius (Crusader) - Magnus Giganticus (Ex Heroclix Hercules) - Roman Auxiliary (BTD) - Hercules (Heroclix) - Ironclad (Heroclix)

You can see the problem of proportion in the Heroclix series.
New Hercules is small than the old one, Namor is very strong but with a too small head (except if in the comics he looks like that).
In think i'll cut off the head of Ironclad to give him the one of New Hercules instead....
Go to the workdesk for the medical operation  Cool

Hope that topic can help you  Cheesy

Hmm, I'm wondering if with some hair sculpted on whether that Ironclad might make a passable Theokoles. Hard to see the face from the pics but I'm thinking sculpted on hair would bulk out the head area a little. He would be a bit too muscular but it might work....

As soon as possible, i will make some test of heads. With some Westwind , it could be interesting to see how they fit on this big guy.

i'll test little Hercules too   Huh?

With Ironclade, i make a head coparison for scale with Westwind ones and they are closer in scale.....
The ironclad head is smaller than one of the new hercule....
