The only difference I could see between the two entry is that the first one show the figures a little better (closer angle). I don’t think anything’s wrong with your painting treps…

I thought your barbarians were beautifully painted, but the photo is lacking in contrast (whereas your opponents is too contrasty) and could also use a little saturation. This makes the figures look a little flat and blah. Having the minis a little larger in the picture (as suggested above) would help as well...

Nice work and I was surprised to see the results were so one-sided Sad after I had voted...
